The Division of International Relations at the University of Haifa, established in 2000 as part of the School of Political Sciences, places great emphasis upon the training of a future generation of researchers in the field. The Division offers a large number of courses covering a wide spectrum of the discipline. The graduate programs include a research (thesis) track, a non-research M.A. degree, and a highly successful one-year Masters Program with a specialization in Negotiation and Decision Making. All of our faculty members are highly active in the supervision of doctoral candidates.
The program of study is designed to provide students with both broad training in the field of International Relations and a focus on one of the following areas, in all of which courses are offered: International Relations Theory, the Study of Foreign Policy, International History, National Security and Strategy, Conflict Resolution, the International Relations of the Middle East, Nationality and Multi-culturalism in International Relations, U.S. Foreign Policy, International Political Economy, and International Justice. The Division’s curriculum also includes courses in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, statistics and computer simulations.
Students studying in the framework of the Division have access to all principal services of the library at the University of Haifa, which offers the most comprehensive collection of books and academic journals in the country. All major journals and the latest publications for both research and teaching purposes may be found at our university.
